The summer heat is nigh for residents of our apartments in Lake Highlands, Dallas, and we’re looking for ways to beat the heat! One of our favorite ways to do that is to take advantage of all the amazing ice cream spots in and around Lake Highlands! There are tons of great ice cream and gelato parlors nearby, so it’s nearly impossible to pick just one favorite! Here’s our short list for Best Ice Cream Near Us. The next time you need an ice cream fix, one of these spots is sure to satisfy.
Know someone in our community of upscale Lake Highlands apartments with a sweet tooth? Send this post to them and start planning your next ice cream date! Now without further ado, let us tell you a little bit about our faves.
Botolino offers some of the best gelato in Dallas if you ask us! Their flavors rotate frequently, so each visit offers something new to try. Some of our favorites include the Mexican Hot Chocolate and Turkish Coffee gelatos, but you’ll also find rarer offerings like black sesame, basil, Egyptian rose, and sweet corn stracciatella!
For folks who prefer dairy-free options, they also offer various sorbettos, including orange basil, pear and ginger, and guava. So much yum.
Hypnotic Emporium is an old-fashioned ice cream, candy, and soda parlor with a huge selection to choose from. Stop by for a classic ice-cream sundae, ice-cream-filled donut, a cloud cone (an ice cream cone with a cotton candy halo), or any number of delicious candies. This place is an absolute dream for anyone with a sweet tooth!
If you like your ice cream with a side of a good cause, Howdy Homemade Ice Cream is the place for you. Not only does this ice cream parlor have some delicious ice creams, including a unique Dr. Pepper Chocolate Chip flavor, it’s also staffed by adults with special needs like Down Syndrome and Autism. Adults with special needs are often in need of work just as much as neurotypical adults and are massively under-employed. This awesome ice cream parlor seeks to help change that.
Milk and Cream specialize in donut ice-cream sandwiches, and it’s definitely a must-try. While they also offer ice-cream cones and cups, it’s the Instagram-worthy sandwiches dipped in fruity pebbles, lucky charms, and other sugary cereals that make this spot truly unique.
If you’ve never had Thai-style rolled ice cream, you owe it to yourself to try Chills 360. The ice cream made here is as striking visually as it is in flavor, and you’ll enjoy watching them make the rolled ice cream right in front of you. We highly recommend their Matcha Made In Heaven and Ice Ice Baby with taro and lychee!
